Obesity is a deadly disease; it’s our responsibility to talk about it

Dear Editor,
I read the “fat shaming” comment and was disappointed that this was the response coming from someone who works in the health arena. It is not an issue of aesthetics, it’s one of risk. With additional weight comes increased risk of diabetes, cancer, endocrine disorders, autoimmune disorders, kidney disease, and an abundance of other chronic diseases.

Dear Editor,
This article was spot on. I am so impressed with how this local mag projects the serious nature of the topic. We must separate fat shaming from reality. There will always be the people who fat shame, let’s just look at them for the horrid mental issues that they must be having, instead of taking it so personally. Big Food, just like Big Pharma, will NEVER have our backs. It’s our responsibility.
