Hatching chicks

| 07 Aug 2019 | 06:45

DETECTIVE EMERGED FIRST, using his egg tooth to make a tiny hole in his shell. The kindergartners kept tabs on his progress all day, monitoring it through the clear cover of the incubator in their classroom. Danny was the second chick to hatch. As is tradition, the eggs came from a local farmer, and during their stay were the focus of science lessons, art projects and excited letters in family journals. Soon, Detective and Danny had to go back to the farmer. Saying 'bye is always hard.
